Choose an accounting period in advance (calendar/fiscal year or Hebrew year) and reconcile income, losses, and maaser given at period end. The app supports a per-paycheck running balance plus annual reconciliation, including Hebrew-calendar years.

Aruch Hashulchan YD 249:7 reckons profit 'each year, from Rosh Hashanah to Rosh Hashanah.' Ahavas Chesed II:18 recommends a dedicated ledger and an accounting every half-year or at least annually.
Sephardi
Same; a fixed, predetermined period is required.
Chabad
Same; many calculate per pay period with an annual reconciliation.
